  • Biofeedback - three stages:
  1. Developing an awareness of the particular physiological response (heart beat).
  2. Learning ways of controlling that physiological response.
  3. Transferring that control into the conditions of everyday life.
  • Creative visualization - subjective experience that uses imagery & imagination.
  • Cognitive behavioral techniques - stress inoculation.
Three main phases:

Stress reduction, applications & follow through.
  • Exercise - provides an active outlet for physiological arousal experienced in response to stress.
