Describe the achievements of Kumaragupta I.

After the death of Chandragupta II, Kumaragupta, the majestic son of his queen Dhruvaswamini, came to the throne.
His reign was an era of peace and prosperity.
The Gupta Age continued to progress in many areas of public life.
He retained the vast empire he had received from his father.
Kumaragupta did not make any major military march to conquer new territories.
His coins and inscriptions introduce his political career.
In the last years of his reign, the Shung people living in the Mekla region in the Narmada valley revolted.
The revolt was contained by his majestic son Skandagupta.
At the end of his reign, the Huns launched an attack on the northern border of the Gupta Empire.
He was also expelled by Skandagupta.
Kumaragupta records shed a beautiful light on his regime.
