The various types of rocks are discussed below
→ Igneous Rocks - These rocks are formed when the molten magma cools, and becomes solid. These are also called primary rocks. There are two types of igneous rocks which are intrusive igneous rocks and extrusive igneous rocks.
→ Sedimentary Rocks - When the rocks roll down crack and hit each other, they are broken into small fragments or particles which are called sediments. When these loose sediments are transported and deposited by wind, water, etc, they are compressed and hardened to form layers of rocks that are called sedimentary rocks.
→ Metamorphic Rocks - When igneous and sedimentary rocks undergo great heat and pressure, they are changed into metamorphic rocks.
