Explain how mental age is calculated.

Answer

A child's age by birth has to be considered to select and calculate mental age. The number of correct answers given by a child helps to determine his mental age. For each correct answer, months mental age is calculated. There are six questions each in every year of age. If the child gives all correct answers to the test of higher age than his age, than it should be considered as his basic age.

Then child's chronological age and mental age are compared. The higher the mental age, the brighter the child is. The mental age is lower in mentally retarded children.
