Community Meaning:
A community is a large group of people living in a particular geographical region or area.
People in this group experience consciousness or community unity as a result of interdependence and integration.
They are fully empowered to control the social as well as cultural functions of the community.
According to a sociologist named McIver and Page, a community is a group of members, whether small or large, living in one place and trying to satisfy most of life's interests.
Thus the community is one of the different groups of society.

The declining importance of the community:
The importance of community is declining because,
$(1)$ Geographical distance has narrowed in modern times due to the development of means of communication and transportation.
Due to which they do not depend on their own community.
Goes to meet their own needs in another community.
$(2)$ For education, trade, business, employment, occupation the human community has begun to move out.
$(3)$ Established interests also destabilize community spirit by discriminating between high and low for their own benefit.
$(4)$ Geographical mobility and education have increased in modern times.
Whose people go to another community to get higher education.
$(5)$ Government laws or regulations play a more important role in organizing social life than localism.
In many small towns and villages the spirit of community still survives.
It manifests itself when a fear arises from the surrounding environment.

Thus, in the modern age, the importance of community is declining due to the development of technology, transportation, communication, radio, TV, introduction of machinery in agriculture and industries, etc.
However individuals in the community become part of the wider society.
That way the connection with the wider society grows.
