The two sources of internal recruitment are:
Transfers: It implies shifting of an employee from one job to another. Generally, transfer does not involve any change in the responsibilities, ranks, rate of compensation or prestige of the employees.
Promotions: It involves shifting an employee to a position carrying higher responsibilities and, therefore, increases prestige. It helps in filling up the vacant jobs at higher levels.
