India is a land of fairs and festivals which are held in different places, practically every month of the year. Apart from festivals, fairs are related to seasonal cycles, religious events, farming or historical events. People also come in large numbers to the Kumbh Mela at Allahabad and Ardha Kumbh Mela at Haridwar.

• People also gather to celebrate events and festivals like Urs and Moharram.
• Different festivals are Makarsankrantl, Baisakhi, Shivratri, Holi, Ramnavmi, Idd, Moharram, MahavirJayanti, Buddha Purnima, Pongal, Navjyot and Christmas.
