Here $n =10, \operatorname{Cov}( x , y )=30, S_{ x }=5$, and $s_{ y }^2=144$
$\therefore s _{ y }=12 .$
$\therefore r=\frac{\operatorname{Cov}( x , y )}{s_{ x } \cdot s_y}=\frac{30}{5 \times 12}=\frac{30}{60}=0.5$
