Find the fourth proportion to the following:
$0.7, 4.9$ and $1.6$

Answer

Let $x$ be the fourth prcportion .
$0.7: 4.9:: 1.6: x $
$\Rightarrow 0.7 \times X=4.9 \times 1.6 $
$\Rightarrow x=\frac{4.9 \times 1.6}{0.7} $
$\Rightarrow x=11.2$
The fourth proportion is $11.2$
