A number of development schemes and programs are planned for the development of tribals in India and Gujarat, as follows:
1951 Programs designed with the Scheduled Tribes at the center.
The principle ofPanchsheel given by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in 1956.
The Tribal Block was formed in 1961 for the development of the Scheduled Tribes.
The Gujarat Tribal Development Corporation was formed in 1972.
Rome was intimidated by the launch of the Integrated Tribal Development Project in 1974.
The Gujarat State Forest Development Corporation was formed in 1976.
In 1982, overty Alleviation Programs were launched to bring Scheduled Tribe families above the poverty line.
The Scheduled Tribes Cooperative Market Union was established in 1987.
The National Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Finance and Development Corporation was formed in 1989.
The Prevention of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Atrocities Act was enacted in 1989.
In 1993, the Constitution was amended as 73rd and 74th regarding the representation of Unscheduled Tribes in Panchayats.
In 1996, a law was enacted under the Pesa Act to support participatory development of Scheduled Tribes in the establishment of Panchayati Raj and at the grassroots level under the Pesa Act.
In 1997,Attitude Change: Welfare to Development and Tribal Empowerment programs were launched.
The New Gujarat Pattern was started in 1998-99 for tribal development programs.
The Ministry of Tribal Affairs was established in 1999.
Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojana was started in 2007.
Thus, efforts were made for the development of tribals in India and Gujarat through the above programs.
