Differences between farm labourers and farmers: S.No. Farm labourers Farmers 1. The hired labourers who work on somebody else's fields, are known as farm labourers. People who cultivate their own fields, are known as farmers. 2. They do not have a right over the crops grown on the land. They have a right over the crops grown on the land. 3. They are paid wages by the farmers in cash or in kind of crop. They earn profit by selling their own crops in the market. 4. They are more in number. They are less in number. 5. Their economic condition is miserable as they are underpaid and exploited by the employers. Their economic condition is better than farm labourers as they work on their own land and there is always a scope of earning more.
