3x – 10 = 35
Add 10 on both sides
3x – 10+ 10 = 35 + 10
⇒ 3x = 45
Divide by 3 on both sides
$\Rightarrow \frac{3 x}{3}=\frac{45}{3}$
⇒ x = 15

LHS = 3x – 10 for x = 15
= 3 × 15 – 10
= 45 – 10
= 35
LHS = RHS
