    Solution:
    Let x = 1.666... ---(i)
    Multiply eq. (i) by 10, we get
    10x = 16.666... ----(ii)
    Subtract eq(i) from (ii) we get
    9x = 15
    $\text{x}=\frac{5}{3}$
