MCQ
The solution of $\text{X}−\frac{5}{2}−\text{X}−\frac{3}{5}=\frac{1}{2}$ is:
  • $x = 8$
  • B
    $x = 7$
  • C
    $x = 9$
  • D
    $x = 5$

Answer

Correct option: A.
$x = 8$
Given $\frac{(\text{x}−5)}{2}−\frac{(\text{x}−3)}{5}=\frac{1}{2}$
Now by taking $L.C.M$ for $5$ and $2$ is $10$
$\Rightarrow\frac{5(\text{x}−5)-2(\text{x}−3)}{10}=\frac{1}{2}$
By transposing the above equation we can write as
$\Rightarrow\text{(5x−25−2x+6)}=\frac{10}{2}$
$\Rightarrow\text{3x−19}=5$
Again by transposing
$\Rightarrow\text{3x}=19+5=24$
$\Rightarrow\text{x}=\frac{24}{3}=8$
