Question
To calm the sea waves, oil is put on them. Why?

Answer

When oil is poured, the air spreads the oil on the surface of water in the direction of air flow to a large distance. The surface tension of water is more than the surface tension of oil covered water. So the water without oil pulls the water with oil in the opposite direction of air, due to which the sea waves calm down.
