Fixed joint: If the bones joined by a joint cannot move that joint is called a fixed joint. e.g. Joints in skull. Movable joint: If the bones joined by a joint can move with respect to each other, then that joint is known as movable joint. e.g. ball and socket joint, pivotal joint, hinge joint.
