What do you understand by conservation? Describe the methods how biological resources are conserved?

Conservation means the arrangement of human use of the biosphere in which the present generation of human gets full benefit and it can also be secured for their future generation i.e., conservation is the use of technique to get maximum benefit without causing any harm to the biosphere.
Conservation of biological resources can be broadly divided into two categories.
(i) In-situ conservation (ii) Ex-site conservation.
(i) In-situ conservation : In this done in the natural habitat of animals. Therefore, for this type conservation of natural forest, pastures, plains, rivers, lakes etc. These natural places are declared as prohibited areas.
Eg. : 1. National Parks, 2. Sanctuary. (3) Biosphere Reserves 4. Sacred Grooves and Lake.
(ii) Ex-situ Conservation : This is done for such wild animals which are in highly endangered conditions. Rehabilitation centres are established for such species of will animals. They are provided all kind of protection. Facilities of living, feeling, reproduction and breeding of the animals.
