What do you understand by the glucosidic linkage?

Answer

The two monosaccharide molecules are joined together by an oxide linkage formed by the loss of water molecule. Such a linkage between two monosaccharide units through oxygen atom is called glycosidic linkage. This glycosidic linkage is also present in polysaccharides like starch and cellulose. For example, the glycosidic linkage in maltose molecule is shown below :
