Near money refers to the assets which can readily be converted into cash such as time deposits, bills of exchange. It describes non-cash assets that are highly liquid but not cent percent liquid. Near money is some times referred to as quasi-money or cash equivalents. Near money cannot be used directly as a medium of exchange.
But it can be converted into cash within a short span of time.
