Question
What does atomic radius and ionic radius really mean to you?

Answer

Atomic Radii: The distance between nucleus and last electron present in outermost shell is known as atomic radii.
In covalent molecules, half of the distance between the nuclei of two identical non-metallic atoms joined by single bond is equal to atomic radius.
Ionic Radii: This tells the size of the ion. The distance between nucleus of an ion and its last electron. upto which the ion has influence in ionic bond is called ionic radius.
