Mining means removing soil or sand from the ground to get minerals from the earth, digging, breaking stones through tunnels and extracting minerals from deeper depths in the ground.
There are two types of mining: surface and underground mining.
Surface mining is easier, safer and relatively less expensive.
Underground mining has to be used if the minerals are deeper than the surface of the earth which is more difficult, unsafe and expensive.
