Translation is the process by which the sequence of bases in mRNA is used to direct the polymerisation of amino acids to form a polypeptide chain (protein).
Process :
1. Initiation : The ribosome attaches to the mRNA at the start codon (AUG).
2. Elongation : Amino acids are added one by one as per the mRNA codons, and peptide bonds are formed between them.
3. Termination : The process ends when the ribosome reaches a stop codon (UAA, UAG, or UGA), releasing the newly formed protein.
