Question
Which vascular system is found in humans? Write any three importance of this system.

Answer

Hepatic vascular system is found in humans.
The importance of hepatic vascular system is as follows :
(i) The blood coming from the alimentary canal contains proper food (glucose and amino acids). Most of the glucose is stored by the liver by converting it into glycogen which is later used when needed. When an organism experiences a lack of food, glycogen is converted into glucose and the liver delivers this glucose into the bloodstream through body veins.
(ii) Harmful nitrogenous waste products (such as ammonia) are converted into urea which is then excreted by the kidneys. In this way the blood becomes detoxified from harmful nitrogenous waste substances.
(iii) Liver produces blood proteins, which are delivered in blood circulation.
