Mulraj Solanki established the "Solanki Dynasty" in Gujarat by gaining power from Samant Singh, the last king of the Chavda dynasty in Gujarat.
He conquered Saraswatmandal and established his capital at Anhilpatak.
Mulraj was a Shaivite and started building a magnificent Shivalaya called "Rudramahalaya" at Siddhpur near Patan.
Bhimdev rebuilt the temple of Somnath which was destroyed due to the invasion of Mahmud Ghaznavi.
