Expansion of the volcanic region:
Volcanic regions are located in areas of the weak surface of the earth's surface. Volcanoes are also found in mountainous areas with new ghats.
The world's volcanoes are mainly in three areas:
$(1)$ Pacific coast belt $(2)$ Central continental belt $(3)$ Atlantic belt.
$(1)$ Pacific coast belt: Here, the most active volcano overall.
Some scholars refer to this belt as the "Pacific Ring of Fire."
On the east coast of the Pacific are the Rockies mountain ranges of North America and the Andes mountain ranges of South America, and at the opposite end are New Guinea, Solomon, New Zealand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Japan, and the Aleutian Islands.
Mount Erebus is a volcano in Antarctica.
The highest volcanic mountain in the world is Cotopaxi in Ecuador, South America.
Apart from this, Marian $($Philippines$),$ Fujia $($Japan$),$ Popocetipatal $($Mexico$)$ etc. are the famous volcanoes of this belt.
$(2)$ Central Sub continental Belt: This belt consists of the Alps mountain range in the south in Europe and the Himalayan mountain ranges in the east-west direction in the center of Asia.

One branch of the belt runs west to the archipelago West Indies and the other to Spain, Italy, the
Mediterranean Sea, the Caucasus, Iran, Afghanistan, and down the Himalayas to Myanmar.

Baron Island and Narkondam Island in the Bay of Bengal are the volcanic islands here.
Other well-known volcanoes are Koh Sultan $($Iran$),$ Aravart $($Turkey$),$ Kilimanjaro $($Africa$)$ and Mount Popa $($Myanmar$).$
$(3)$ Atlantic Ocean belt: The islands in the South Atlantic reach Tristan-de-Cunha through the Azores in the
North Atlantic.
The Azores and St. Haley are the main volcanoes here.
The southern Antilles Islands are the main area of volcanoes.
