Question
Write a short note on magnification produced by a mirror.

Answer

Magnification produced by a spherical mirror gives the relative extent to which the image of an object is magnified with respect the object size.
→The ratio of the height of the image to he height of the object is called magnification.
→ It is usually represented by the letter m.
→If his the height of the object and h' is the height of the image, then the magnification m produced by a spherical mirror is given by.
Image ...... (9.5)
→The magnification m is also related to the object distance u and image distance . It can be expressed as:
$m=-\frac{0}{n}$ ...... (9.6)
→As the object is usually pinced above the principal axis, the height the object, measured upwards, is taken to be positive.
→The height of the image should be taken as positive for virtual images, while it is to be taken as negative for real images.
→A negative (minus) sign in the value of the magnification indicates that the image is real.
→A positive (plus) sign in the value of the magnification indicates that the image is virtual.

His classmate advised him not to tell the teacher, but he refused and told his teacher. On listening to him patiently, the teacher did not scold him and threaten as it was just an accident and used the opportunity to show the internal structure of the ammeter to the whole class.
