Differences between rennin and renin :

1. It is secreted by the Zymogen cells of the gastric glands of the stomach. It is secreted by specialized cells of the afferent arterioles of the kidney cortex.
2. Their secretion is stimulated by food. Their secretion is induced by decreasing $Na^+$level in the fluid.
3. It is a proteolytic enzyme. It is a hormone. It acts like an enzyme. 
4. It helps in digestion of milk protein   'casein'. It converts angiotensinogen protein into angiothecin.
5. It is secreted in an inactive form (prorennin) which is converted into an active form (rennin) by HCl. It is secreted only in the form of renin.
