Write short note on : Sculpture of ancient India

The sculpture of ancient India begins with the uniformity in town, baths, granaries, industrial units, harvesting of rainwater, public roads, etc. of Harappan civilization. Our ancient sculptures are the best examples of an engineering art. They include cave sculpture, temple sculpture and palace sculpture.
$(1)$ Cave Sculptures : The hills of Barbar, cave sculptures of Nasik, cave sculptures of Ajanta-Ellora and Amaravati.
$(2)$ Sculpture : Confluence of Greek and Indian art. There were two types of sculptural art:
$1.$ Gandhar art
$2.$ Mathura art.
$(3)$ Stupas and Viharas : Stupas, Chaityas and Viharas are included in architecture of Buddhism. Stupas and Chaityas were for meditation and prayer; while Viharas were made for Jains and Buddhist monks to stay.
