What Is meant by resource$?$ Describe its usages.
Answer
The thing on which the man Is dependent, human needs can be fulfilled by them and the man has the physical and intellectual capacity to utilise them can be called a resource. When anything Is used to fulfil the needs of human being, It becomes a resource. Usages of resources : Resources are useful in many ways. At every stage of human life, the resources become useful in one way or other. All activities ranging from agriculture to industries are dependent on natural resources directly or Indirectly. Following are the usages of resources:
$1.$ Resource — as food : The food requirements of man are fulfilled by various resources. Vegetable fruits, various agricultural crops, milk and milk products of domesticated animals, meat, fish and other aquatic animals, honey prepared by honeybees, etc. is used by man as his food.
$2.$ Resource — as a source of raw material: Various forest products which are useful commercially, various crops obtained through agriculture, milk, meat, wool and hides obtained from domesticated animals and many mineral ores are used as a source of raw material in many Industries.
$3.$ Resource — as an energy resource : Coal, mineral oil, natural gas, firewood, etc. are used as fuel resources in industries and for domestic purpose. Besides, solar energy; wind energy, tidal energy; geo-thermal energy, bio-gas, hydro-energy, etc. are also used as energy resources.

Which points should be considered for planning and conservation of natural resources?
Answer
Following points should be considered for the planning and conservation of natural resources: To gather information about the characteristics of the used or unused probable resources of any country or a region. Those resources which are in limited quantity or which are non-renewable should be considered scientifically. Use those resources only when these are inevitable. Attempt intensely to develop those resources whose quantity can be increased. Those resources which are cheap easily available and should not be used irrationally, but should be preserved for future requirements. Those resources are available in limited quantity should be preserved. Find out their options using technology. The revived resources will be useful on long run. Government should form Laws for the conservation of resources and should implement them very strictly. Create awareness among the people about all aspects of rational uses of resources.
