However, most of the packaging material is used to beautify the boxes and make them look attractive on the shelves. Unfortunately, a large volume of packaging material goes to waste and is thrown into dustbin. For example, in most of the places, the dusthins are full of chips and biscuit wrappers. It unnecessarily increases the amount of garbage. It also increases the cost of the product due to unnecessary packaging. We should seriously consider how to reduce unnecessary packaging.

By reusing and avoiding the use of the packaging material like box, we can reduce the packaging material.

Handmade recycled paper when seen through a lens very small holes will be visible. In new sheet of paper no such holes will be visible with a long.

Most of the papers available in market are recyclable i.e. newspapers, notebooks, magazines, paper sheets, envelopes, etc. Shiny, plastic coated paper are not recyclable.

Banana leaf is a better choice. It is bio-degradable and can be disposed easily. On the other hand, eating in plastic plate is not good as plastic is non-biodegradable, it will not be disposed-off easily.

We keep the leftover food in the refrigerator and use when we need. Some time we put it in pit for compost manure. We use it to feed animals (roaming on the road or in street) with leftover food.

Yes, besides redworms, fungi-molds and bacteria, etc. can e seen in the pit. Compost is also rich of microbes which can be seen using microscope. They decompose biodegradable substances.

Non-biodegradable waste like polythene bags, broken glass, aluminium wrappers, iron scrape and broken plastic toys cannot be converted into compost by the redworms.
