Explain in short : Efforts for Diversity and Equality
Answer
Diversity : The diversities in religion, languages, caste, races, economic status, food, festival, attire, colour-complexion, residence, beliefs, customs and traditions, etc. as well as geographical factors like climate, topography, farming, forests, etc. prevail in our country. Due to such diversities, discrimination like rich-poor, male-female, literate-illiterate, urban- rural, upper-lower castes, etc. is seen in our country. Our ancient social structure was based on caste. Therefore, some groups have remained economically and socially backward. So caste based discrimination arose in the society. The living standard of the literate people remains high and the life of the illiterate people remains normal. Thus, discrimination has arisen due to major differences in the living standard of both classes. In our country, the number of rural people is higher than that of urban people. Discrimination has arisen due to the huge difference in the living standard of rural and urban people.The efforts for equality :
$(1)$ Untouchability is abolished $($removed$)$ as per the Article $17$ of the constitution of our country.
$(2)$ All citizens have been given equal opportunity, justice and status through the fundamental to constitutional equality.
$(3)$ Free and compulsory education has been given to all children of the age group of $6$ to $14 $ years through the right to education (RTE).
$(4)$ Government has provided basic facilities like village roads, primary health centers, electricity, drinking water, etc. for the community development of the people.
$(5)$ Discrimination has decreased due to freedom by which people can follow their own religion, speak their own language and celebrate their own festivals.
$(6)$ Reservation is implemented for certain castes of the society in government jobs and in the seats of Grampanchayat to Parliament.
$(7) $ Hostel, scholarships and the scheme of financial assistance has been implemented for the students.
$(8)$ Equal opportunities are granted to women according to the constitutional provisions so that their honour and respect can be maintained in Indian society. Through the facilities shown above, all have got the opportunity to progress and develop in social, economical, political and cultural fields.

Answer
India has diversities like that it is known as a subcontinent. In India, many people follow different religions, speak many languages, have diversity in cultures, celebrate different festivals. People of different races from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, and from Gujarat to Arunachal Pradesh live unitedly in our country. The diversities in looks, colour- complexion, attire, food, life-style, customs and traditions, etc. are also seen in the people of India. However, emotional unity prevails among the countrymen. During the freedom movement, our countrymen displayed national unity possible through feelings of patriotism and sacrifice. India has followed the principle of ‘Vasudhawa Kutumbakam’ (The whole world is a fathily.) in the world. Despite all the diversities in the country, all Indians live in a spirit of harmony and coexistence. The people of India have developed and conserved diversity. Thus, unity in diversity is a unique feature of our country and our culture.
