(i) What per cent of water is used for bathing and sanitation together per day?
(ii) How much less per cent of water is used for cooking in comparison to that used for bathing?
(iii) What per cent of water is used for drinking, cooking and gardening together?
(iv) What value is depicted from the 'saving water'?
Answer
(i) Water used in bathing and sanitation together $=20+40=60$ L per day
$\therefore$ Percentage of water used in bathing and sanitation together per day $=\frac{60}{150} \times 100=40 \%$
(ii) Water used in cooking $=41.$
Water used in bathing $=201.$
So, in comparison to bathing, water used in cooking is less by $(20-4)$ i.e. 161
$\therefore$ Percentage $=\frac{16}{150} \times 100=\frac{32}{3} \%=10 \frac{2}{3} \%$
(iii) Water used in drinking, cooking and gardening together $=(3+4+ 23)\text L= 30\text L$
$\therefore$ Percentage of water used in cooking, drinking and gardening together per day $=\left(\frac{30}{150} \times 100\right)$
$=\left(\frac{3000}{150}\right)=20 \%$
(iv) By 'saving water', we can help the humanity in a better way. We can use that amount of water which $\text s$ necessary for our need and can easily stop the wastage of water.
