The average number of people living in sq km area in any unit or a specific area of the earth's surface is called the 'density of population' of that area. The density of population of any area can be known by knowing how many people live in that area.The density of population can also be expressed according to the following formula: Density of Population=Total population of the country / Total area of the country

The population is very dense in the fertile regions of river banks and the delta, flat land area: industrial regions, religious places, etc. of the world.The population is very sparse (scanty) where the conditions are unfavourable for farm production in the areas like high mountains, undulating physiography, regions of heavy rain, dense forests. marshy areas, salt producing fields and the deserts.
Less number of people live in high latitude regions, tropical deserts, mountains and equatorial forests.

The nature has given human the gift of acumen (intelligence), thinking power, ambitions. the power to take decisions and to act accordingly. So the people who are well-educated and trained turn their needs and their skills into resources.The people who are healthy, well-educated, cultivated, intelligent and considerate develop the resources according to their requirements. That s how they develop themselves, the society and the nation. So people are considered to be the greatest resource of the nation.
