A Rescue operation of Burning house

Fire accidents are not very common. But when they take place they cause great alarm and destruction and sometimes loss of life. After taking our food in the night, we went away into our room. The beds were ready and we slept. It was 9 o'clock in the night. My father was reading a newspaper. Suddenly,we saw smoke entering our room. We wondered from where it was coming. We went out in the courtyard. The smoke was coming out of the nearby house. The house had caught fire. The neighbour was crying loudly for help. He began to take out costly things. The people came quickly for help. Some helped him in bringing out the things from the house, while others ran to a nearby well for water. There were only three buckets in the house. They cried for more buckets. Some brought four more. Others only kept weeping in pain. The neighbours were nervous and they lost presence of mind. They did not know what to save and what to leave behind. There was more noise and less work. People were running over the roof and pouring water with buckets. Neighbour's young boy Raju was also pouring water to extinguish fire. He worked very hard to put out fire. He ran with the buckets over the roof of the kitchen. Suddenly the roof fell down and he fell over the head of burning wood. We saw him in the flames. We acted quickly and took him out of the burning home. Pappu was lucky because the intensity of fire was rising. In the meanwhile somebody had the good sense to inform the fire-station. The fire-engines soon arrived at the site of the fire. The firemen immediately set to the work of fire-fighting. They did their best to control and extinguish the fire. They pumped fast the water in the flames, with their hoses. It took almost two and a half hours to control and then finally to extinguish the fire. They struggled hard and heroically. One of the firemen was seriously injured in the efforts, and a few of them had received bums and bruises. Most of the fire accidents occur because of our carelessness. Every year there are many fire accidents, resulting in a great loss of property and life. Many of these can be easily avoided if we are more careful, and observe certain rules and regulations regarding fire-protection, etc.

School Picnic

Last Wednesday was a memorable day for me because on that day I had my school picnic. We were supposed to go to a water park. My friends and I were very excited. We had already packed our small bags with biscuits and chocolates on the previous day. We started from our school at 7.00 in the morning. On the way we sang songs and danced. We reached the water park after two hours. At the water park, we had great fun. We came down into the pool from a big slide. We also came down on rubber tubes. We splashed water on cach other. We also enjoyed in the wave pool. Our teachers took great care that none of the students got hurt or had no any serious trouble. After our lunch, we sat in the lawn. There we played games like kho-kho and kabbadi. In the evening we again went into the water pool for one hour. After that we got into our buses and came back to school. We came back at 9.00 p.m. We enjoyed so much that we didn't want to come back. Really, it was a very memorable picnic.

Visit to an Old Age House

Old age homes are all over the world. We visited an old age house in my city last week. Best old age home the old people were lost, lonely and unhappy. Nobody, not even science can explain the love, bonding and affection between a mother and child. Every mother wants her children happy. But when she finds that she is a load in her children's life. She wants her children to have the best that she could afford. To obtain this she works hard for most of her life. Sometimes she goes hungry to feed her children. When her children have grown up she wants them to spend some of their free time with her. But when she is pushed into an old age home, she feels very sad. She tries her best to adjust to the surrounding, talk to the people who are strange and unknown to her. When I visited an old age home. I got to that being old is not easy. I could actually see the pain and loneliness in cach person's eye. Our classes were divided groups of ten. Each group was accompanied by a warden. We were taken to each ward which was having of three to four beds. We were not taken to some wards because there were mentally retarded people. We had taken some daily used items like worn clothes. bed sheets ,bedspreads, fruits snacks .etc. They were very happy talking to us . There was a person who could draw very well. We asked her how she landed up there. She told us such a shocking story. I want to share my views. She was from a very well bred family. She had a son on whom she had a lot of hopes. But he took all her jewellery, money and property worth one crore. He deserted her so she came to the old age home. This was a very shocking story. She told that she had never expected this from her most beloved son. Really, we felt that the old age home is a taboo on the civilized society. We took oath that we will take care of our parents in future.

A Fire In Your Neighbour’s House

Yesterday was Diwali and children were firing crackers in my neighbourhood. Suddenly a rocket entered the house and there was a fire. There were loud screams. I rushed out and found that a house in my neighbourhood was on the fire. Big flames and clouds of smoke were coming out from the building. Four children and their mother were inside the house. Many people rushed out from their houses. Immediately I called the fire brigade. The fire brigade came soon and started immediate efforts to save the human lives. They took out tall ladders and water hoses. The firemen, outside the house were throwing water from the hosepipe. At last, the children and their mother were taken out. Then they were taken to the nearby hospital. The fire was completely put out in an hour. The furniture and other things on the ground floor were destroyed. But there was no loss of life. People, gathered there will never forget that thrilling experience.

HK School bags first place in Quiz Contest

The students of H K School bagged the first prize in the Inter- School Bournvita Quiz Contest in Gujarat. Mehul Doshi and Krina Pandya represented the school and saw it to the final. The questions ranged from various subjects like Science, Literature, and General Knowledge to Mathematics. Our team faced the Borsad team in the finals. There were three rounds. Round one saw the Ahmedabad team doing better but in the rapid fire round, the Borsad team faltered and paved the way for our school to bag the trophy. The Principal and teachers praised our students' performance during the Assembly Session of the School.

She was all praise for the efforts of the students and teachers in putting up the s exhibition. She praised the set-up, the discipline and the organization. A short diya dance was s performed by some of the senior girls, and? the symbolic lamp was lit. Then Sr Seema cut s the ribbon to declare open the first stall and? everyone cheered. The next few days will indeed be hectic ones.

A medal and ₹ 1000 each were awarded to Geeta Mehta of Sanjeevani School, Deval Munshi of Satya Academy, Rahul Kaswekar of Railway School and Rita Dave of Pragati School. The programme began with the song ‘Hum Honge Kamyab’ by the students of Stds. V and VI.

The Principal then introduced the chief guest, who congratulated the toppers heartily. This was followed by a play in Hindi ‘Drug Sardar’ which was quite hilarious. Then the function concluded and we all went back to our classes hoping to be present there someday to receive an award.

The Teacher’s Day

On Septembers, 2005, Teachers' Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Navgujarat High School, Paldi. The students were well prepared to participate as teachers on the day. The boys were in tidy dresses and the girls-teachers were dressed in neat, clear saries. They behaved like real teachers. It also seemed that they had worked very hard on the subjects they were to teach. They tried their best to justify, their roles as teachers. The students in the classes were also greatly excited to study. The student-principal went round the school to see how everything was going on. The student peons also carried out their jobs with great interest. All these were keenly observed by the real principal and teachers. In the last period, the students who performed their best were chosen for the prizes. As per the tradition, the principal gave the prizes.

The Science Exhibition arranged at Good Shepherd High School from 25th September to 30th September by the Shala Vikas Sankul was indeed an outstanding success. The talents of the young budding scientists need to be appreciated, for it was an eye-opener to all and sundry who visited the exhibition.

The exhibition was inaugurated by the District Education Officer. There were various pandals erected for the display of variety of exhibits. Models of water purifier, washing machine, simple machine for recycling of waste found favour with many. India goes nuclear and satellite communication were star attractions of the exhibition. Environment-friendly chimney, Solar cooker, Solar water heater, Gobar gas plant were some other working models.

The young scientists explained the scientific principles involved in their projects using charts, slides, models, etc. The simple machine for recycling of waste exhibited by Model English School was highly appreciated by the judges and was awarded the first prize. While awarding the prizes, the District Education Officer lauded the efforts of the young scientists and teachers who made the exhibition a grand success.
The exhibition was really educative and entertaining.

The Independence day

This year we celebrated the Independece Day with great enthusiasm in our school. On this occasion, a programme was arranged on the school playground. A big stage was set up and decorated with tri-colours. All the students and the teachers of our school gathered on the school playground. The national flag was hoisted by the President of the school management at 8.00 a.m. The national anthem was sung by the school band while we were standing respectfully. Then Niles purohit from Class VIII recited a song “ Sare Jahanse .." Bhagirath Patel from Class IX recited a poem " Mera Hindustan." The principal gave a short speech and advised all the students to love our country and work for it. He also advised to be ready to sacrifice for our country. The best cadets of scout and guide were given medals for their brave act. There was 'parade' of N.C.C. Sweets were distributed among all. At last the function ended with "Jan Gan Man...." It was a thrilling event for the students.

The situation improved slightly for a few days but this weekend the crisis has erupted again. A severe dry spell has been cited by the officials as the chief cause of the crisis. But the people who are very badly affected by this crisis, are roundly blaming the authorities for failing to plan some kind of relief by way of supplying water by tankers.

The programme started with flag hoisting. The National Flag was hoisted at 7 am by the Municipal Commissioner T. Chandrashekhar who was the chief guest. It was followed by march past of students groups Red, Green, Blue and Yellow houses marching behind the school band.

The speech given by the District Education Officer about freedom fighters was an inspiring one. Patriotic songs were sung by the students of Std. X. Students presented a cultural programme which consisted of various items.

A ‘Skit’ performed by the students of Std. IX about freedom movement was appreciated by all. Sports competitions were an attraction of this year’s celebrations. Winners were awarded certificates and prizes. Prizes were distributed by the chief guest.

Our school had organized the show to raise funds for the construction of the school hall. The Principal was happy to announce that, after expenses, the school had collected rupees two lakhs in cash. All in all, the show was a resounding success.

While giving away the medals, he lauded the organisers and the young athletes. The events came to a close with the school band playing the National Anthem. The success of the events could be attributed to the meticulous planning and hard work by the teachers and students.

In her speech addressed to the students, s Ms Mirza emphasised the importance and value of sports in our daily life, particularly s in the life of students. She also appreciated the keen interest shown by the school as well as the athletes in the field of sports and athletics. Our upcoming athletes hold the reins of the country’s future in the field of sports. Indeed they do. We are grateful to Ms Mirza for having taken the trouble of coming to the school despite a hectic schedule, to encourage our students.

The tree plantation Week

Our school recently celebrated the "Tree Plantation Week". It was decided to celebrate it from September 11 to September 18. The Chief Guest was the Mayor of Surat. He inaugurated the Tree Plantation Week at 9.0 a.m. It was decided to plant hundred and one trees in the school campus and other two hundred and one in nearby areas. The required pits for the plantation were dug by the students of our school. All the students and the teachers planted the trees together. The next day a drawing competition was held in our school. The students drew, the pictures of natural scenes, forests. mountains, flowing rivers etc. On the third day there was a composition competition on "The Importance of Trees". The elocution and other competitions were held on the following three days. On the last day of the week, an exhibition was held in our school. Many people of the city, students, their guardians visited our school. The journalists and the photographers also came to collect the information. The winners of the various competitions were given away the prizes by our principal.

The next over was bowled by Hiten Thakkar. In the second ball 5 of this over, the opening batsman was clean bowled. After this, the game went on slowly until the captain of the Bharat team walked in after four wickets were down for a score of 67.

Within half an hour, the captain had notched up 25 runs. Our googly bowler, Hassan Sheikh, did S wonders. Not only did he get the captain out but he also dismissed three other batsmen as b well. When the stumps were drawn at half-time, Bharat School were 129 all out in forty overs. S This was the score we had to chase.

We opened our innings disastrously. We lost two wickets in the very first over. There was gloom in our camp. Our only hope was our captain, Sachin Patel. He rose to the occasion and punished the bowlers of Bharat High School- In 29 overs he scored 57 runs. This included four sixes and three boundaries. His batting had us all on our feet screaming with excitement. Then he was out lbw. Our tally was 87 in 30 overs.

The remaining batsman contributed several runs to the score and we edged up to 120 in 39 overs. Ten runs had to be scored in the last over. Gaurang, who was batting, was in his element and on the 2nd and 3rd ball of the over, he hit a boundary and a sixer. We won the match with three balls to spare. Everyone was delirious with joy. The Principal handed over the trophy to the jubilant captain, Sachin.

The Science Fair

Last week, a science fair was organized by our school at the Himmat high school. It was held in the class-rooms and the ground of our school. There were various sections like, projects, technology, experiments, charts, slides etc. Each section was well arranged. The scientific points were well explained by the students. Many kinds of plants, stuffed birds, snakes and insects were shown. The other section showed the models and charts of space technology. Experiments on clectricity and magnetism were shown. The model of robot was the main attraction of all. One other section showed charts explaining various chemical reactions. There were many visitors at the science fair. They asked questions and the students gave answers satisfactorily. The students of our school provided different services. Scientific films were also shown. The fair remained open for three days. Most of the students of city visited this fair. This fair was organized under the guidance of the teachers and the principal. The efforts of the students were praised by all. It was entertainment with education.

Fun Fair at St Mary's High School

St. Mary's High School organised a Fun Fair for the High School Students on the 3rd of September on the school playground. There were different stalls for eats and games. The Principal and the Teachers helped the Student's Council organise the fair. The games stalls were a big hit with funny and interesting games. There was a wide ranging variety of food items. The air was rent with fun and frolic. It was interesting to see the students conduct the stalls with élan, young entrepreneurs in the offing! There was no unpleasantness at all. The fair brought the students close to one another, keeping up the spirit of Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam.

Farewell Function

There was a farewell day in my school for the students of class - X and XII. At about 8:00 a.m. the function started. Mr. Niketu Maniyar, our secretary was the chief guest of the function. First of all a small prayer was said. The students of class VIII, IX and XI expressed their feelings. The staff members showered blessings on the parting students. They wished them 'Best of Luck.' A small inspiring and thoughtful speech was made by the principal. Some necessary instructions and tips were given to the students the chief guest. The 'wish-takers' promised to do their best in the board exam. In the end a group photograph was taken. All dispersed after light meal.

The Republic Day Celebration

On the fateful morning of 26th Jan., our school celebrated Republic Day in the school premises. It was a matter of great pride for all of us. Needless to say, the whole school had worn the appearance of a beautiful bride. The Principal, teachers and the students didn't want to leave any stone unturned in making this monumental day a memorable one. The SDM of the city was the Chief Guest. He came on time. He was warmly welcomed by the whole staff led by the Principal. Then the Principal took him to the function venue. There our hon ble guest unfurled the national flag, With that everybody stood erected for National Anthem sung by the students. Then there were parades by NCC cadets of the school. After this, students presented cultural items. These cultural items included patriotic songs, folk dances and speeches. One girl sang a song, "e mere watan ke logon ..." in a very melodious voice. Everybody liked that song. Some students also presented skit based on fight against terrorist. The message of the skit was to convey that India would not tolerate the terrorist activities in the country and our brave soldiers were ready to fight terrorism tooth and nail. Then there were speakers who through their speeches invoked the precious contribution of great freedom fighters. With a couple more cultural items, the function ended with national anthem. Towards the end, all the people there flew colored balloons symbolizing prosperity and peace. Our joy knew no limit when our Principal announced the next day's holiday. Despite weather being inclement. we enjoyed Republic Day with great enthusiasm. Along with other students. I will never forget this wonderful day.

An Environment Awareness Relly

The students of Shri S. V. Shah Vidhya Vihar, Mehsana took out a rally for environment awareness. About 1200 students and 60 teachers along with the principal Mr. Bhogilal Patel joined the rally. They had banners and signboards with slogans and sketches to appeal the people on their route to aware the citizens for environment awareness. It was a five kilometer-route and the students approached some shopping complexes and well-off people requesting them to know about environment. Yesterday the Environmental Awareness Quiz Contest was held in our school. About thirty schools took part in the contest. Our school won the contest. The chairman gave the trophy to the winners in the prize distribution ceremony. Such contests will bring about a good deal of environmental awareness among students.

Visit a book fair

We read the advertisement about a book fair in The Gujarat Samachar' yesterday. It was held on the university ground. We decided to visit it. There was a huge gate with large posters. There were about 150 stalls by various publications. There were also posters and cardboards. They were hanged to display discounts and other attractive schemes. Many young and old people were moving about from one stall to another looking for the books of their interest. The stall-keepers were busy showing the customers different books. They were also showing various educational CDs. They were convincing them to buy them. The customers were also showing great enthusiasm in buying books. The books and the CDs were latest and they were not costly. We also bought five books on various subjects. It was a memorable visit for us. We expect such fairs should be held very often. They help us to encourage reading more and more books and increasing knowledge. We all enjoyed this fair and returned to home at night.

Our Science Exhibition

The students of Std. 10 of our school arranged a Science Exhibition on the school grounds for a couple of days. Mr. Parikh, the Minister for Cultural Affairs. inaugurated the Exhibition. He praised the students and teachers for the tremendous efforts they had put in. There were various pandals erected for the exhibition of a variety of topics. The domestic section, the electrical-cum-electronic section and the computer section were well organised. The most interesting sections were the Recycling of Waste' section and the 'India goes High-Tech' section. But the star attraction was the tiny remote-controlled toy robot working on battery cells. Many of the models actually worked, like the gobar gas plant and the solar cooker. The students in charge of different sections described various models and charts to the visitors in a very clear and convincing way. The exhibition was well-attended by the public. Parents and other visitors alike praised the young students for organising such a useful and instructive exhibition.

Celebration of Sports Festival

Yesterday the Sports Festival was celebrated in our school with great enthusiasm. It started at 8.00 a.m. with a great ceremony. Various Sports and games were arranged for the students of the school. First of all, our sports teacher wished us 'Best of Luck.' Then our principal, Miss Shruti Shah advised us to play with sportsmanship. Then after the sports and games were started. First of all, 100 meter race was started. Many students took part in this race and I stood first. There were also lemon race, the spoon race etc. High jump, long jump and the pole jump were also held. Team games like basket ball, football and cricket were also played. I was the captain of one cricket team. Our team won by 25 runs. I was declared the Man of the Match. Our teachers were the umpires and the referees for the day. There was a festive like atmosphere. The Mayor, Mr. Bharat Patel was the chief guest. Almost 100 students participated in the competitions. Winners were given medals and certificates by the chief guest. He congratulated the winners and encouraged the rest of the participants. Thus, the programme came to an end.

The Prize Distribution

Last Thursday, the prize distribution function of our school was held in the assembly hall. Dr.Joshi, the famous educationist was the Chief Guest. There were students, teachers, parents and guests in the hall. The function began with a prayer. After a welcome speech by the Principal, the chief guest gave away the prizes. Krishna and Sanjana won the Best Student award. Chirag Raval was the Best Sportsman of the year. All the winners were cheered loudly. we were clapping for them. Kashish Patel, one of the prize winners, gave speech. The chief guest congratulated the winners and praised the activities of the school. The function ended with a vote of thanks and "Vande Mataram". After the function, there was a grand party for all the students.

A Quiz Competition

There was a Quiz Competition in our school last week. It was the final competition among the students of std IX and std XI. There were two teams. - 'India' from Std IX and 'Bharat from Std XI. Mr Rraval, the English teacher was the quiz master. Mr. M.S,Patel was a scorer. It was a very tough competition. The questions were prepared by a panel of teachers. Tables for the participants were set in front of the student-audience. The hall was over-crowded. The final quiz competition started at 3 p.m. There were three rounds of the quiz. The first round was the general round. The quiz master asked three questions to each team in the general round. Both the teams got equal points. Then second round started. It was a buzzer round. There were also three questions and both the teams were ahead with equal points. At last, the visual round started. Team 'India' made a mistake and team 'Bharat' was ahead with 2 points. So the team 'Bharat' became winner of the quiz competition. The Principal, Miss S.B.Shahl gave the prizes. There was a great excitement all over for two hours. It was really a great encouraging programme for us.

Celebration Of Cultural Programme

Shri S. V. Sukal Vidhya Mandir celebrated its cultural programme last evening. The principal, the students, the guests, the guardians were present. This cultural programme was held in our school's auditorium at 5:00 p.m. The Education Minister was the chief guest. Our principal and the teachers welcomed him. Then all took their seats. He inaugurated the cultural programme with lighting the lamps. Then the young girls of our school recited a prayer. An action song was presented by the primary students. The girls of the secondary students performed the incident of 'Mahabharata'. They received the applause from all of us. The higher secondary students recited group songs. They also performed Ras-Garba'. Then many students joined them. The young girls performed the song expressing communal harmony. They were praised by all. It was a memorable programme for us all. The chief guest thanked the trustee, the principal and the teachers. He also praised the student's performance. All enjoyed and praised this programme. Then, we dispersed happily.

Irate Commuters Delay Duronto Express

About 50 angry commuters delayed the Duronto Express last evening. Just as it was about to leave the Kalupur Railway Station at 11:45 p.m. On inquiry. the commuters sald that for the third day running, season ticket holders had been unable to ind seats in the train. According to them, the seals were being occupied by unauthorised persons even before the train reached the platform. These were then sold off to casual travellers with ordinary card tickets. This amounts to a breaking of the promise given to us by the C. R. officials," salad one angry commuter. The matter was temporarily solved when C. R. officials promised to look into the matter.

At sharp 10:30 a.m. the match started. Vidyanagar School team were in yellow uniforms and P. B. D. Joshi High School were in blue. With loud cheers both the teams entered the ground. Vidyanagar High School players seemed to be more energetic and enthusiastic. Fortunately, they managed to get a free kick, however, the goalkeeper Rutesh of P. B. D. High School managed to save the goal.

Somehow Nehal of P. B. D. passed the ball to Shyamak and his shot ripped into the goal. P. B. D. had won the first round. In the second round, once more Vidyanagar team dominated as they had two very good players at intercepting and dribbling. But without getting irritated at their efforts Vinesh of P. B. D. High School managed to shoot the ball directly into the net and the goalkeeper of Vidyanagar seemed helpless. There were cheers and shouts all around. For the third round, there was great excitement.

The tempo was at its highest and the players of Vidyanagar team were desperate. Kaushal of P. B. D. High School tackled the ball excellently leaving no chance for the opponent team to recover. He made a passionate smash at Shyamak and Shyamak headed it spotting a gap in the defence of Vidyanagar team to Nehal. Nehal controlled the ball and smashed it past the goalkeeper.

Thus, P. B. D. managed to win all three rounds. There was a volley of congratulations for the players. Some supporters lifted up the good performers on their shoulders and the air of the ground was filled with ‘hip, hip, hurray! In the award ceremony, the captain of P. B. D. Joshi High School team was given away a cheque off 50,000 at the hands of the District Education Officer.

Aids Awareness Campaign Held at Shri S. V. shah Vidhya Vihar

Shri S. V. Sukal Vidhya Manir arranged a campaign about 'AIDS Awareness' yesterday. The meeting of the students, teachers, non-teaching staff and doctors was held in a large hall. The charts and models about AIDS awareness were displayed at the walls. The doctors who were specialists on AIDS delivered speeches regarding this disease. The common tone of their speeches was an advice of to lead a disciplined life. Then it was followed by the quarries from the audience. Students raised interested questions related AIDS. Doctors satisfied their wish to know more about this disease. si Mr.Rajesh Raval, the principal, expressed a vote of thanks to the doctors and the audience. Thus, the campaign came to an end. Finally, we came to know that we should 'KNOW AIDS FOR NO AIDS'.

Inter-school quiz Competition

An Inter-school Quiz Competition was held at Vidyanagar Higher Secondary School on July 26, 2019. Ms Sheela Chauhan, the English teacher conducted the quiz. The quiz began with the introduction of the participants. Before starting the quiz the teacher made two sets of participants, cach of three students. who were going to participate for the final and explain rules of the Inter-school quiz competition. The first round was quick fire round. Both the schools did well in this round. The second round was audio round. Audio tracks of famous personalities were played and the teams had to name the personality by recognizing the voice. Tagore School won this round. This round was followed by visual round. The participants in each team were shown pictures of famous places and personalities which they had to recognize and name correctly. This round was won by Bose School. Last round was general round. This round was also won by Bose House. At the end, Bose House won the competition by scoring 120 points. They were given away the trophy by the principal. The quiz ended with the national anthem.

Environment Day was celebrated on the Environment Day -June 5, 2019, Wednesday. The function began with a special Vandana by the school choir. Awareness on 'Conservation of Earth' was created among the students through a variety of cultural programmes. Many events such as Book Mark Making Drawing and Colouring Competition, Best out of Waste Competition, Slogan Writing Competition, Placard Making Competition, etc. were held on the theme Save Earth and Beat Air Pollution. Principal appealed to the students and teachers to adopt green ways of life. A mime show was presented depicting the plight of environment caused by air pollution. It was followed by a skit where they expressed their views on the human activities that destroys the environment and the importance of protecting the environment. A group song on parisara, speech on environmental issues were the highlights of the programme. Students administered green pledge The programme concluded with vote of thanks followed by our National Anthem.

Celebration of the World Environment Day

Junagadh

 The world environment day is celebrated on 5^th June every year. It was announced by United Nations General Assembly in 1972 to celebrate this day as world environment day. The name of my school is Smt R J Kaneriya Girls High School, Junagadh and we also celebrated this day with great enthusiasm. A tree plantation drive was organised at our school on the mark of World Environment Day. All the students of Eco Club, NCC Wing and NSS Unit planted saplings on the occasion.  Manjulaben Fuletra, principal of the school, interacted with the students and spoke about threats to the environment. Students raised slogans and displayed posters regarding different environmental issues. Potted plants were added to the school garden and students were encouraged to participate in drawing and poster making competitions with environment-related topics with their parents. Kids also enjoyed pot-making and other activities organised to help students understand the importance of the three P's - Protect, Preserve and Promote 'mother earth'. Students and staff participated in plantation drives to make their surrounding green. The theme resoluted for the World Environment Day 2017 is 'One planet. Consume with care.' To mark the day, the school also organised a 'nature walk' for the students who were exhorted to plant more trees in their surroundings. To add more color to the day 'Best out of Waste activity was also held: students used waste material to showcase their creativity. Shri Mohanbhai Patel, the managing trustee of the school also joined the students in this 'go green' effort. Really we celebrated the day with the go green activities and enjoyed a lot.
