According to Viceroy Lord Mountbatten. there was no alternative other than the partition of India. National and prolific leaders like Sardar Patel understood the matter. After many discussions and pondering, finally Viceroy Mountbatten decided to plan the partition of India. This plan is known as Mountbatten Plan.

Subhash Chandra Bose joined India's freedom struggle in 1921. He was twice elected as the President of the Indian National Congress. He left Congress and founded the Forward Bloc after his differences with Gandhiji.

The britishers called the Round Table Conferences for the constitutional structure and reforms of India. The First Round Table Conference was organised in London in 1930. It failed due to the non-participation of the Congress. Gandhiji participated in the Second Round Table Conference. but that conference also failed.

As a part of Civil Disobedience Movement, Gandhiji decided to go to Dandi village to break Salt Law on 12th March. 1930. He commenced Dandi Yatra from Harijan Ashram to Dandi village.

In response to the challenge posed by Lord Burkenhead, the Secretary State for India. the All-party Committee headed by Pandit Motilal Nehru prepared a draft of the Indian Constitution. It is known as 'Nehru Report'.
