Question 512 Marks
Find the general solutions of the following equations :
$\cos \theta=\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}$
Answer
View full question & answer→The general solution of $\cos \theta=\cos \alpha$ is
$\theta=2 n \pi \pm \alpha, n \in Z$
Now, $\cos \theta=\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}=\cos \frac{\pi}{6} \ldots\left[\because \cos \frac{\pi}{6}=\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}\right]$
∴ the required general solution is
$\theta=2 n \pi \pm \frac{\pi}{6}, n \in Z$
