Question
Explain about any two techniques of extrinsic motivation.

Answer

  1. Praise or Blame: Praise or blame are effective factors of motivation if given at a proper time and in appropriate amount. Sometimes, if blame is given at improper time, it can be dangerous. The individual may withdraw himself from that activity. Praise is also better but too much praise can destroy the future of the sportsmen. It should be according to the requirement.
  2. Cash Prizes, Certificates and Trophies: Indeed, it is a good incentive to the sportspersons. It motivates the individual. Every government strives hard to achieve better in international competitions. Therefore, these governments offer cash prizes to the sportspersons, who win the laurels for their countries. This proves to be a good source of motivation to the sportspersons, who are not economically sound. The rewards should be presented in front of all the recipients.
