Each village has a Gram Sabha to perforn. the tasks as per the law of Panchayat. After the election of the Gram Panchayat, a meeting of Gram Sabha is held by announcing it in advance. All the voters of the village are the members of Gram Sabha. They can vote in the Gram Sabha as well as make proposal. The Gram Sabha is like a village assembly. The General Assembly of the Gram Sabha should meet at least twice a year. The village Sarpanch is the head of Gram Sabha. Government employees, taluka and district level officers remain present in the meeting of Gram Sabha.
Priority is given to the development work of Gram Panchayat in Gram Sabha. In addition, various problems of village such as village roads, clean drinking water, cleanliness of village, electricity, primary education, health, etc. are also discussed.
Every villager must attend a Gram Sabha to achieve the objective of Gram Sabha. In order to have a transparent administration of the Gram Panchayat, village problems and development works are discussed in the Gram Sabha.
