The Second World War started with German invasion of Poland on 1st September, 1939.
The War was fought between (1) Axis powers
Germany, Italy and Japan and (2) Aliled powers - England, France, USSR (Russia), USA (America) and their allies.
The Second World War that started in Europe reached Far-East with Japan's aerial attack on America’s naval base at Pearl Harbour on $8^{\text {th}}$ December, 1941. In retaliation, the USA declared war on Japan.
The entry of the USA swung the tide on the side of the Allied powers.
