✓
Answer
The constitution envisages the ideal of and exploitation - free society’. It intended to promote self-respect and dignity of every individual.
The Indian society was feudal and based on the caste-hierarchy prior to independence. Evil and exploitative practices like untouchability slavery, traffic in human beings, Veth and Bigar (forced labour without payment), discrimination against women and exploitation of child labour prevailed in India.
To put an end to these exploitative practices the Right against Exploitation provides for the following
(1) Abolition of the slavery, Veth and Bigar, prohibition of traffic in human beings; and its practice as a cognisable offence.
(2) Prohibits services without payment or without the minimum wages as laid down in the laws and such acts are regarded as cognisable offence punishable by law.
(3) Prohibiting the employment of children below 14 years of age in factories, mines and other hazardous occupations
(4) Prevention of Child Labour Act prohibits children below 14 years of age in any other service employment.
