  • Touch sensation is experienced through the sensory fibers scattered throughout the skin of the body.
  • There are four main types. (1) Heat (heat) (2) Pressure (3) Cold (cold) (4) Pain.
  • Touch sensation is experienced by different sensory cells scattered on the skin.
  • The facial touch sensation is experienced as the neuron produced on the face reaches the posterior segment of the brain.
  • When the nerve flow from the skin associated with the shoulder to the waist, arms and legs passes through the spinal cord, passes through the groove of the cerebellum and reaches the skin sensation center behind it, the sensation of touch is experienced.
  • E.g. when the raindrops fall on the body, both sensations of touch and coolness are experienced. Thus, touch sensation is experienced through the skin sensation center and the brain chamber in the body cells
