Two identical fuses are rated at $10\,A$. If they are joined
Ain parallel, the combination acts as a fuse of rating $20\,A$
Bin parallel, the combination acts as a fuse of rating $5\,A$
Cin series, the combination acts as a fuse of rating $10\,A.$

DBoth $(A)$ and $(C)$
d A fuse is a piece of wire resistance which acts in a way such that if the voltage in a circuit exceeds the rating of the fuse then the fuse wire melts and the circuit becomes an open circuit, thereby breaking the circuit and preventing the components from getting damaged due to short circuit. Now, if two fuses are in series, the melting of a single fuse can break the circuit and so in series the rating will be $10 \mathrm{A}$. However, in parallel, even if one fuse is melted, the other fuse still works and so the net rating will be $20 \mathrm{A}$.

A circuit containing five resistors is connected to a battery with a $12 \,V$ emf as shown in figure. The potential difference across $4 \,\Omega$ resistor is ........... $V$
$A$ conductor is made of an isotropic material and has shape of a truncated cone. $A$ battery of constant emf is connected across it and its left end is earthed as shown in figure. If at a section distant $x$ from left end, electric field intensity, potential and the rate of generation of heat per unit length are $E, V$ and $H$ respectively, which of the following graphs is are correct?
In the figure shown, battery $1$ has $\mathrm{emf}$ $= 6\, V$ and internal resistance $= 1 \,\Omega$. Battery $2$ has $\mathrm{emf}$ $= 2\,V$ and internal resistance $= 3\, \Omega$ . The wires have negligible resistance. What is the potential difference across the terminals of battery $2$ ? ................ $V$
Potentiometer wire of length $1 \,m$ is connected in series with $490\,\Omega $ resistance and $2\,V$ battery. If $0.2\, mV/cm $ is the potential gradient, then resistance of the potentiometer wire is ................ $\Omega$
A piece of wire is cut into four equal parts and the pieces are bundled together side by side to form a thicker wire. Compared with that of the original wire, the resistance of the bundle is ..........
