Question
Explain the meaning of ‘religion’.
✓
Answer
‘Dharma’ is a Sanskrit word. At its root is the metal 'Dhru'.
‘Dhru’ means to hold, to sustain.
Religion is the power that holds the individual, society, nation and the whole of life.
With this power, human beings can cultivate a vision of life and make life meaningful.
Regarding religion, Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan says, "That rule is not a superstition. It is not the opium that selfish religious leaders use to seduce human beings to take advantage of their ignorance. ”
Without this vision, a human being cannot live a true life, cannot become a true human being.
A comprehensive understanding of religion is necessary to facilitate the conduct of life, to sustain human-human relations, and to establish an empire of peace-policy and virtue in society.
