Question
Explain the relic method. Or introduce a relic ritual formula, illustration and symbol.
✓
Answer
The explanation of the relic method is as follows:
Mill's motto: "Any part of an event that has been found by previous definitions to be the result of certain predecessors is the result of the remainder of the part that remains except for that part."
Residue mode is subject to the following conditions:
$(1)$ The event should be divisible.
$(2)$ Knowledge that some part of the event is the result of certain predecessors must be obtained in advance.
$(3)$ Except for the part of the event shown in $(2)$ above the event and its causal antecedents, some part of the event and certain antecedents should remain.
Example: Suppose we want to determine the weight of a baby.
The mother weighs $50$ kilograms with the baby.
We know in advance that the mother weighs $42$ kilograms.
So, subtracting the mother's weight from the total weight of the mother with the child according to the residue method, then the weight of the child is reported to be $8 \ kg.$
Symbolic representation: Capital letters $(A, B, C, D)$ for predecessors of the event under investigation and lowercase for successors.
The relic symbol is represented using the letters $(a, b, c, d)$ as follows:
$A\ B\ C - a\ b\ c$
$B$ is a well$-$known cause of $b.$
$C$ is the cause of c known in advance.
$\therefore A$ is the cause of $a,$ or $a$ is the result of $A.$
